Rainbow

Sunday, July 30, 2006
After days of endless rainy and stormy weather, yesterday I managed to take a beautiful pic from my balcony.

Rainbow! That really brighten my day.

Today went to Subiaco markets as usual and got myself lillies. I have always liked lillies and tulips. So decided to give it a go with lillies!

But the I realised how about my roses? They have not withered yet. So I decided to reuse. Beautify my kitchen sink area....

He came over today with our friends for strawberries and drinks! Yummmmyyyyy..... Then the guys asked about the job in Singapore. He just said: you know you can't live without me, don't go back. (it was said in a joking manner but he looked straight into my eyes) I wanted to say so much things but keeping in my mind that our friends are around, I just changed topic. End of the day, we had a really typical Sunday session, drinks and talks about Footy (the boys) and me and Elle just did girls talk.
When they were about to leave, he said infront of them again:"Please reconsider."

The funny thing is when I asked my folks, Mum was not that keen of me going back to Singapore to work. She said after fighting for the PR and spending so much time to finally settle in your apartment, you want to come back Singapore and work?
i.e dont give up that easily. Fight for it. Finish your cpa and try to find a job, build your career in Aust.

Dad on the other hand, without hesitation upon hearing my dismissal from iiNet, told me to come back to Singapore. Told me to give up the PR and it's always easier for me to be back home. I gotta admit, Mum is the one who thinks with her brains but Dad is always emotional. What have I gotta say? I am always daddy's little girl. haahaaa...

This weekend I've got another friend from Singapore coming to visit for 10days. Going to do round 2 of touristsy stuff! ahhahaa....

Getting to know better

Friday, July 28, 2006
In a relationship, we communicate to know our partner better. As for me, I managed to have a good heart-to-heart chat with him today for 3hours. Just chilling on my couch and I listened to him telling me stories of his best mates and his own life.

He told me he can't imagine life without C. His partner wanted out 4yrs ago and took a break and decided to hang on to it after the partner took an overseas trip to sort thoughts out. Told me about his first and last love who's name is Kathy (when he was 19). From that day onwards, he sworn never to feel jealous or love someone that much.

I wish things could have turned out better for him but at the moment for him, it's more of a routine lifestyle. I asked him why he didn't want to take the job opportunity which will be base overseas, he said that would be the end of it, if he went. He wants to be with C all the time.

So today for me, I received a job offer in Singaproe but the trick is, it's a 2yr contract. I called one of our friend and told him that most likely if things turned out not so well for me in Perth, I will head back to Singapore by late August for as long as I know. The friend immediately called him up, not knowing that he was actually next to me. He answered the call in my room and I overheard him saying:" yeah, it's a sad news that if she has a job offer and she wants to go back. But that's her choice right?"

Again, I have been to about 6 interviews now since Wednesday. I do hope that I am able to get a job here soon. Things are definitely looking brighter in Singapore currently, but I feel that I still need to give Perth one last shot before heading back.

Call it whatever you want, I know I still can't bear to leave Perth. Him being part of the reason. It's easy to take up something, but hard to let it go. I know myself better. I want to feel that I can finally give it up, be it job search or relationship, in order to not regret when I look back at today's situation in years to come. One thing that I always advise my friends: Go with your guts. No matter what you do, friends and family tell you the dos and donts, end of the day, everybody still will go with their guts. So I will do the same thing this time.

Retrenchment

Wednesday, July 26, 2006
Things have not been going on well for my family and I. On Sunday, Dad told me that my Singapore's apartment nearly got burnt down. Mum forgotten to close the window and apparently in the afternoon, it was rather windy and the candles from the alter fell to Mother Mary's statue and I am not really sure how the thing caught fire. Anyway, both folks are out but my pooooooorrrrr PIPI become CHOW TAH DOG! HOT DOG! ...... she is Scoobie's Long Lost cuz! pppooooooorrr girlllllll....... But luckily nobody was hurt and nothing greatly damaged. Just need many sessions of serious scrubbing of walls and ceilings and discarding of the damaged furniture.

Next unfortunate incident: Yes, it's hard to face the facts at times, but still, Yvanna got retrenched at a young age of 24+. I feel for all the people who ever experienced retrenchment. Just 24hr notice is sufficient (according to the new workplace agreement policy).

So on that fateful day 24.07.06, Klara and I got retrenched. I still was happily updating my blog in the morning. The weather that day was windy and heavily pouring away, both of us decided to go for coffee and slowly let the news sink in. We were still suffering from the shocking news. So after coffee, I walked in the rain and feeling dejected. So cliche.

Got home, straight away updated my resume and cover letter. Applied for about 20 jobs (typical singaporean, kiasu). The more the better mentality. Cooked myself a Hearty Meal and watched tv. At night, dear friend Jessica called to console. Thanks girl for calling, that meant alot to me.

Tuesday, typical. Woke up at 9am. Send endless resumes and cover letters. Got some calls in the end and today, I got 4 interviews. Not too bad. Hope one of them will call me back. I'm not choossssyyyyyyyy.... just need a job badly!!!!!

haaahaaa... still thinking that this weekend will be busy with the company's ball going on, bought a fancy dress on ebay for that occassion. HAHAHA....

So now I'm back to what I believe I am moderately good at, Ebaying. Sam and I had this talk yesterday, she was mentioning that I prolly should go back Singapore and work there. That is also one thought at the back of my mind. I will see if things still don't go on well, I will take a mini break in Sept or end Aug for 2weeks back to Singapore and organise as many interviews as possible. After which, if there is a good job offer in SIngapore, I will most likely pack up my stuff in Perth and leave. But then again... AIYAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ..... heartache. cannot bear to leave.

See how it goes.... Hope that all things will turn out well eventually. Sam hurry finish your script and replenish your sleeping hours, so you will feel ooohhh soooo refresh and we can go shopping and have a nice meal. GOODERLUCK!

Cheryl's Last Visit to Perth

Monday, July 24, 2006
Friday night, met up with a good friend of mine, Yih Sian, and went for dinner in some restaurant at Beaufort and coffee at Exomodus. After which, Michael called and had this little reunion with other friends (my ex-hsemates of Como) as Ziyi and Joanne are heading back to Singapore for good. At about 1.30am, Samantha and I headed to The Moon cafe til about 2.30am. That day was splendid but someone just needed to declare war with me early in the evening.

Saturday, woke up really early, in my opinion. Friday night got back at 3am. Saturday woke up at 9am and got ready to meet my dear dear friend Cheryl. A friend of hers, Jamie, joined us. We headed to Harbourtown with a mission to find my stupid ball dress for this Saturday but nothing seems appealing. By 2pm we were really starved. Brought them to Little Creatures. Had our mini-lunch and Cheryl ordered Pilsner and Pale Ale. Jamie wanted to have some fish and chips so off we headed to Kailis Bro after Little Creatures. Ordered more seafood. Lunch was simply fantastic on Saturday. I had a really good time.

Jamie was feeling tired so after lunch, we sent her back to the hotel and Cheryl came over my place to have a little catching up. She has applied for Ground Staff work and it has been approved. Part of me feeling sad cos I will only get to see her in Singapore. All these while I am here, I have been looking forward to Cheryl announcing that she has a flight scheduled to Perth. On the other hand, it's for the benefit of Cheryl too, as a ground staff, she has more time to do what is necessary, e.g. continuing her studies :) and spend more time with family and friends and not forgetting her boyfriend.

War was still on.

Was absolutely knackered on Saturday night, knocked out at 9pm. Sunday morning woke up at 8am. Went to church, then off to oriental mart then to Subi to get flowers and get cheap cheap vege. When I was having my little alone time, sipping my coffee and enjoying my cig, war opponent called, decided to peace out.

Sam called and wanted to meet for coffee and we went to Noi at East Perth. Had my lunch and tea with her. Got back home after lunch, did laundry and cleaned my entire aptment. Then by 630, war-peace buddy picked me up and went to Subiaco's Cino-2-go to meet our friends. After coffee, walked to KFC as friend's gf wanted to have some finger food and then after which, we headed to Luxe Bar. Sam if you are reading, the Lychee Martini not really that fantastic ley.
After Luxe, continued the night at my place, we had some wine, played some music and chatted til 1am. Didn't even realised the time! And when the thought of a work week starting in less than 6hours, I just felt tired automatically.

But still I managed to get to work today! Got here at 7.15am. Feeling rather fresh. Wore skirt and boots today, listening to the radio on my phone, while in the lift, the djs were saying that today, the weather bureau has issued a severe weather warning and there are strong winds and thunderstorms.

Luckily I have my car keys and I went to take my brella. I just got my boots and this is my first time wearing it to office and must kena such bad luck. haa...

This wkend is my company's Ball and the theme is James Bond (Dress to kill). Hurhur... also no dress for the ball now. Hope I can get something decent before Saturday. And I will take loads of pics.

Oh it's going to be an exciting week!

I Love You Girls... Thanks for coming over to visit moi! *muacks*

What more can i ask for? I was missing Singapore dearly and finally my dear friends decided to come over to Perth for a visit. Another event worth celebrating is 270606 my PR has been granted and FINALLY one goal achieved.

3 Honolulu girls shopped til they drop. Went to Carousel, City, Harbortown (killer one), Claremont, Fremantle, Kings Park and Cotto. We are still behaving as though we were in Primary school. Making jokes and laughing at the stupidest things. Most nights we watched SATC and snacked away.

I should mention. I was so touched when they bought a little pressie from Singapore for me. It's a beautiful necklace that has both my fav colors: Blue and Gold.

Just sent them off to airport and I can't bear to see them leave. Though back of my head keeps telling me that I shall be heading back to Singapore for a short break end of the year and we still will be able to see each other.

Words can't describe how I feel but I am really grateful of them coming and I will always remember the wonderful days in Perth.
